چکیده
To investigate the wave- and current-induced seabed response near a fully buried subsea pipeline, two-dimensional coupled model for fluid-seabed-pipeline interaction (FSPI-2D) is developed within framework of COMSOL multiphysics. Different from previous studies, both wave-current nonlinear pipeline-soil contacts are considered in present model. In this paper, Biot’s consolidation mode used to govern fluid-induced response, combined Reynolds averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) equation with k-ε turbulence employed simulate fluid propagation. Meanwhile, pipeline treated as linear elasticity. Firstly, effectiveness new verified by laboratory experiments reports. Then, numerical examine effects pipeline-seabed characteristics on around structure. Finally, momentary liquefaction studied based 2D

متن کاملFully nonlinear wave-current interactions and kinematics by a BEM-based numerical wave tank
A numerical wave tank (NWT) with fully nonlinear free-surface boundary conditions is developed to investigate nonlinear wave–wave and wave–current interactions and the resulting kinematics. In the present paper, the variation of wave amplitude and wave length of a monochromatic wave under several different speeds of steady uniform currents is studied through direct numerical simulations in the ...
متن کاملNumerical Modeling of Seismic-induced Soil Response Around Submarine Pipeline
Seismic-induced pore pressure and effective stresses in the saturated porous seabed under seismic loading are the main factors that govern the overall stability of submarine pipelines. In most of the previous investigations for the seismic-induced dynamic response around a submarine pipeline have been limited to two-dimension cases. In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element model includ...
متن کاملDetermining Natural Frequency of Free Spanning Offshore Pipelines by Considering the Seabed Soil Characteristics
Free spans or suspended spans normally occur in subsea pipelines due to the irregularity of seabed and byscouring phenomena around the installed non-buried pipeline. The hydrodynamic around the pipeline canlead to a vibration of the pipeline. This kind of vibration may cause fatigue damage to the pipeline. In orderto study the hydrodynamic around the pipeline, calculating the natural frequency o...
متن کاملinvestigating dynamic response of a buried pipeline in sandy soil layer by 1g shaking table test
investigating the parameters influencing the behavior of buried pipelines under dynamic loading is of great importance. in this study the soil structure interaction of the pipelines with the surrounding soil was addressed using shaking table tests. wave propagation along the soil layers was also included in the study. the semi infinite nature of the field was simulated using a laminar shear box...
